San Martin de las Canas possessed a tactile quality that felt very lived in. Even in the absence of its occupants, the surrounding environment felt alive with a story to tell. The dirt compacted by years of travel, the trees brushed over by the wind and the reality of natural systems is that they are infinitely complex. A physical body can be subdivided exponentially before it will yield to the scale of its molecular make-up. This implies that the emergent geometry will be non-euclidean and thus reveal the oddity of the tectonic situation.
